Serialized SS Dagger — E. P. & S. Solingen
SOLD!
This early WW2 SS Dagger by hard to find maker, E. P. & S. (Ernst Pack & Sohne) is salty but extremely desirable. Acquired directly from the son of the veteran who brought it back from World War II. The grip is a very nice color, showing hints of deep brown and black. This early WW2 SS Dagger by hard to find maker, E. P. & S. (Ernst Pack & Sohne) is salty but extremely desirable. Acquired directly from the son of the veteran who brought it back from World War 2.
The grip is a very nice color, showing hints of deep brown and black. Two 1/2” chips can be found on both sides of the grip where it meets the cross guard, as well as a couple minor scratches and hairline cracks. Despite the flaws, the wood is still very solid with no signs of further damage. The eagle retains about 50% of its detail (fairly normal), but 100% of its original finish, and normal patina. The SS runes are perfectly in tact, with the enamel at about 95% on the roundel, but very clean.
The scabbard is only slightly oxidized, and can only be seen in the right lighting, otherwise the paint is 100%.
The blade is not the nicest I’ve seen, but certainly still a good looking blade. The usual scratches can be noted from being removed and inserted into the scabbard time after time. As far as I know, the blade has never been cleaned or reconditioned.
One of the things that makes this SS Dagger stand out in the crowd is the serial number of the SS member who owned it, which is clearly stamped into the cross guard (125285).
Aside from its obvious flaws, this is a very respectable dagger with the ability to track down the original SS soldier who wore it through the serial number on the cross guard.

FRANK CHEENEY –
I own one of these SS Daggers with E.P.&S Solingen on the blade. It has a black handle and is in good to great shape. It also has the sheath.
