The grip is solid, without cracks and only a few minor scratches and dings expected of period SS daggers. The eagle is beautiful, retaining 95% of it’s original detail and has a perfect patina. SS roundel is almost perfect, with one a sliver of darkening from age along the lower quarter edge.

The grip on this Boker show honest use wear, but no more than is typical and expected. There is one very tiny chip (about an 8th of an inch) on the left side of the SS roundel where the wood meets the upper guard. The guard fittings are nice and tight against the ebony grip, with a light verdigris where the wood and nickel meet, implying that the dagger has not been cleaned or taken apart…

This dagger was a vet bring back and was recently acquired from the Vet’s son. The dagger crossguards are the early Nickel type internally marked “PA” with nicely executed accent grooves seen on these type of crossguards. The grip is a real beauty, with hints of brown showing through the black when you turn it under the light. There are no cracks or chips either, which is a real treat considering how susceptible these grips are to damage.
