Heer (Army) Dagger — Carl Eickhorn Solingen

Here’s a nice, affordable Eickhorn Heer Dagger. Not the nicest one on the shelf, but certainly a fantastic display piece on a budget. Here’s a nice, affordable Eickhorn Heer Dagger. Not the nicest one on the shelf, but certainly a fantastic display piece on a budget.
The grip has some fading on one side (one side is lighter in tone than the other), but is otherwise free of chips and cracks. The guard and pommel cap are in great condition, with a nice patina to the silver finish.
The scabbard on this army dagger is free of dents and major flaws, and has a nice deep silver patina – matching the grip fittings perfectly. The hanger bands show only modest wear, and both hanger rings are present.
The blade has suffered some moisture wear over the years, with surface spotting throughout. Under the right light you can also see what appear to be some scuffs here and there, as well as some faint runner marks, but all flaws appear to be only surface deep (meaning most cannot be felt when running your fingers along the surface of the blade). The Eickhorn Solingen makers mark is nice and prominent – deeply etched and a nice medium gray tone.
Overall, this is a very nice dagger for someone on a budget looking to get their hands on a piece of German Third Reich history.
