Weimar Prussian Schupo Clamshell Police Bayonet
Here’s a scarce bayonet from the Weimar period. A nice, private purchase Prussian Police Bayonet with Clamshell from the Carl Eickhorn firm. The quality of this example is fantastic all around. The stag grip is superb, with no damage; chips, cracks or otherwise. The Weimar eagle at the center of the grip shows some normal use wear, but is still gorgeous!..

The quality of this example is fantastic all around. The stag grip is superb, with no damage; chips, cracks or otherwise. The Weimar eagle at the center of the grip shows some normal use wear, but is still gorgeous! The eagle head pommel is striking, with minimal wear and plenty of detail. Just beneath the oak leaf patterned guard is the very heavy clamshell with its Weimar style eagle.
The blade on this one is a bit scratched, and shows some chrome plating loss in areas, but in our opinion this does not impact the piece overall considering quality and condition as a whole.
The scabbard has matching fittings (both marked with the number “16”). The leather of the scabbard body is in exceptional condition, with only one real flaw; a slight bulge at the scabbards midsection on the unstitched side. Otherwise the stitching is tight and free of defects.
