Here’s a minty, rarely seen, and very desirable Eickhorn Transitional NSKK dagger with the traditional Eickhorn maker’s mark below the RZM 7/66 1938 mark.
The grip on the gorgeous dagger is a deep brown with only very minor wear marks and no cracks or chips. The eagle is 100% in terms of factory detail, as is the SA roundel. Both upper and lower guard are immaculate, save some minor scuffs at the top of the upper guard. While the pommel nut doesn’t show evidence of tool marks, the surface of the upper guard shows some scuffs.
The blade is a real beauty as well, with a very nice cross grain throughout. The motto “Alles fur Deutschland” is a very pronounced deep gray tone, which is hard to find on any SA dagger these days. With most of these daggers the tone is completely lost to time. Not here! Same with the two maker’s marks on the reverse; a very pleasing deep gray tone. Overall the blade rates very high, with only some minor oxidation spotting, mainly near the outsider edges.
The scabbard is the standard late-war NSKK black painted type, with only a few scratches from use and easily 99% of the original paint very much in tact. The plated fittings are just as shiny as the guards, and without flaw to match! All fitting screws are securely tightened and show absolutely no signs of tampering.
It doesn’t get much better than this folks! If you’ve been looking for the right NSKK Transitional dagger, this is the one to buy. Do not pass this up!
