This first model Luftwaffe dagger by E. & F. Hoster is in overall very nice condition. The hilt fittings show average use wear, including some minor scratches but nothing out of the ordinary. The pommel and crossguard sunwheel swastikas all have 99 – 100% of the original gilt. The deep blue grip leather is 98% overall, with some use wear as seen in the photos. This is also typical. This aluminum first model Luftwaffe dagger by E. & F. Hoster is in overall very nice condition. The hilt fittings show average use wear, including some minor scratches but nothing out of the ordinary. The pommel and crossguard sunwheel swastikas all have 99 – 100% of the original gilt. The deep blue grip leather is 98% overall, with some use wear as seen in the photos. This is also typical. The aluminum grip wire is 100%.
The scabbard is a real beauty! typically we see these with at least some cracking or peeling. This scabbard is 100%, with no signs of cracking or peeling whatsoever. All fittings include originals screws, and are free of dings and dents, with only very minor use scratches to note. Chain links appear un-messed with and complete.
The blade does have a few corrosion spots, including a larger spot on the obverse (see photos). Otherwise a nice blade with a crisp E. & F. Horster Solingen maker mark.

SOLD!A truly exceptional early example of an SA Dagger by the C.G. Haenel firm. It doesn’t get much better than this in terms of overall quality. From handle to tip this is a real screamer! The nice walnut grip on this dagger shows some of the most striking grain of any SA daggers out there. Very few dings or scratches can be found on the surface, and no notable cracks.
