Heer (Army) Dagger — Carl Eickhorn, Personalized
SOLD!
We love these personalized pieces! This Carl Eickhorn heer (army) dagger is a real beauty throughout, save a few cosmetic issues with the blade. The grip is simply amazing. Aside from some white residue (dirt) in the recesses, there is barely a scratch or ding to mention, and only one very slight (almost missed it) hairline crack at the ferrule ring – only about 1/16th inch in length…

The grip is simply amazing. Aside from some white residue (dirt) in the recesses, there is barely a scratch or ding to mention, and only one very slight (almost missed it) hairline crack at the ferrule ring – only about 1/16th inch in length. I would put the coloring of the grip at a light caramel tone.
Both the crossguard and pommel cap continue to showcase their distinctive detailing. The silver plating on all fittings is 100%, with that very nice silver patina collectors love! As stated, this crossguard is personalized. The very professionally applied, ornate engraving is very much intact and can easily be read (see photos).
The scabbard coloring is consistent with the grip fittings, with the gorgeous silver plating and multi-colored patina. It doesn’t get much better than this one folks! No major dents or dings, save a very small door ding near the tip (hardly worth mentioning).
The blade shows the Carl Eickhorn makers mark prominently, with a decent amount of oxidation spotting throughout. There have been no attempts to recondition, clean or polish this blade, so it is considered “untouched”. The blade’s cross graining is very prominent throughout, despite the surface spotting.
This is an overall very nice example personalized German army dagger, with a quality finish that will display well in any collection.
