SA Dagger by E.P.&S. (Ernst Pack & Sohne)
Talk about untouched, this one has all other SA daggers wishing they were just like it! One of the nicest all around E.P.&S. daggers we’ve seen, with all the right qualities, purchased from the relative of the veteran who returned it home after WW2.

Talk about untouched, this one has all other SA daggers wishing they were just like it! One of the nicest all around E.P.&S. daggers we’ve seen, with all the right qualities, purchased from the relative of the veteran who returned it home after WW2.
Let’s start with the obvious, this dagger has been untouched for decades, which is immediately evident by the deep patina and (frankly) dirty fittings. In fact, each and every piece of this dagger shares the same even aging qualities. You have to love that!
The wood grip is not perfect but it’s about as good as it gets. Aside from a few modest use marks it’s almost perfect. The front and back sides have a faint stripe pattern to the wood grain, giving it almost that tiger stripe look in the right lighting. As mentioned, the fittings, including the eagle and SA roundel, all have a nice deep age tone to them. There are literally zero signs that a rag has ever touched this dagger!
Moving to the scabbard we see an anodized body with some expected and normal wear, but no dings or dents. The fittings are also ever so slightly worn, with only a couple notable dings, but nothing distracting. All screws are untouched.
Now for the most appealing part of this dagger (as if it could get any better), the blade! Because the veteran stored this dagger with a properly oiled blade it is still today what it was over 70 years ago! Folks, this blade cannot be upgraded! The motto still retains 100% of it’s original darkening, as has the E.P.&S. makers mark on the reverse. Absolutely stunning!
Don’t let this one slip through the cracks. No it’s not the cheapest SA dagger on the shelf, but you’ll be hard pressed to find its equal.
