A very nice WW2 period German Red Cross EM Dagger (a.k.a. Hewer). This is a fine example by maker Ges. Geschutzt (concealed on the blade beneath the lower guard), with a beautiful blade.
The metal fittings are all tight, and show only normal levels of age – nothing unusual. The plastic grip plates are solid, no chips or cracks. The blade shows very minor spotting across both sides (see photos), but no major scratches, rust or corrosion. As with most all of our blades, we do not clean them so some of the discoloration may be removed with some cleaning. We’ll leave that up to the buyer.
The scabbard paint is 100%, with a bit of surface spotting here and there (typical), and a couple of decent dings on the reverse (see photos). All screws and hardware are present and show no signs of tampering. A solid example all around!
