German SS DaggersThe German SS Dagger was a standard accessory issued to all members of the elite and greatly-feared SS which functioned as Hitler’s personal bodyguard unit. The design of the SS daggers is quite striking and incorporates several examples of Nazi symbolism. Their design was based in part upon the German SA Daggers. Some of the prominent design features of all SS daggers include the distinctive SS symbol located at the top of the knife grip, the Nazi eagle holding a wreath containing the Nazi swastika in its talons, and the ebony wood grip which was typically dyed black (in later years oak was often used in place of ebony). The blade of an SS knife also was inscribed in the center with the SS motto “Meine Ehre Heist Treue” (My Honour is Loyalty). This motto was written in Gothic script. Due to the popularity of the SS Nazi dagger with WWII collectors many reproductions or fakes were produced. These were typically quite detailed and it takes a trained eye to distinguish between a well-made reproduction and an authentic Nazi SS dagger.

Richard Abr. Herder Partial Ground Röhm SS Dagger with Serial Number

This item has Sold or is On Hold
This WW2 German SS dagger may have seen better days, but its still a rare find with its Partial Rohm inscription AND numbered cross guard. These are two rare elements in and of themselves, seldom encountered together on the same dagger. The scabbard on this one is in overall very nice condition. The anodized scabbard body shows a very rich deep brown tone with only normal use wear and a single ding about 1/3 of the way up from the tip on one side only...

Early SS Dagger — Robert Klaas

This item has Sold or is On Hold
This Robert Klaas SS Dagger may not be in the best of shape, but it still has character, and appears to be uncleaned. The grip has a couple of small chips, the largest being on the side with the nickel eagle, to the right of the SS roundel. It seems like 1 in every 3 SS daggers that make it into my inbox has a chip in the grip so this is becoming more common. There is another, much smaller and shallower chip on the reverse where the grip and upper guard meet...

  • SS Dagger by E.P.&S. (Ernst Pack & Sohne)

SS Dagger by E.P.&S. (Ernst Pack & Sohne)

This item has Sold or is On Hold
Here’s a really nice and very desirable Ernst Pack & Sohne (E.P.&S.) SS dagger with a ton of appeal! The grip is a real beauty, with hints of brown showing through the black when you turn it under the light. The surface has very few blemishes - only the usual ding or minor scratch here and there from normal use. There are no cracks or chips either, which is a real treat considering how susceptible these grips are to damage.

SS Dagger — RZM M7/80 Gustav C. Spitzer

This item has Sold or is On Hold
A bit salty, but still a very nice mid-period, uncleaned and unmessed with SS dagger by Gustav C. Spitzer. The grip is a nice deep chocolate color with shadows of black around the edges and in the grooves. I really like these deep brown grips. Something about them is just more appealing in my opinion. As with many SS daggers in circulation, there is one small chunk missing at the rear of the grip where it meets the top crossguard, and the start of another chip on the front to the left of the SS roundel...

Chained SS Dagger – Type 1

This item has Sold or is On Hold
A nice type 1 Chained SS Dagger with a great deal of appeal! The grip is solid, without cracks and only a few minor scratches and dings expected of period SS daggers. The eagle is beautiful, retaining 95% of it’s original detail and has a perfect patina. SS roundel is almost perfect, with one a sliver of darkening from age along the lower quarter edge.

  • SS Dagger Vertical Hanger - RZM 48/35

SS Dagger Vertical Hanger – RZM 48/35

This item has Sold or is On Hold
Here’s a nicely worn vertical SS dagger hanger, well preserved and with plenty of character. We see a lot of these with nickel plated clasps that have worn away to the underlying base metal, so it is really nice to see one in solid nickel...

SS Dagger — RZM 1222/39, M7/95 J.A. Schmidt & Sohn

This item has Sold or is On Hold
This is a nice late-war RZM 1222/39 (M7/95) SS dagger attributed to J. A. Schmidt & Sohn, in overall excellent condition. The grip is in exceptional condition as it has only a couple of use wear marks (minor dings and scratches), the most noticeable being on the reverse as seen in the photos. The cross guards are a nice tight fit, along with excellent nickel plating in comparison to many other late war ss daggers...

SS Dagger Vertical Hanger – RZM 19/38

This item has Sold or is On Hold
Here’s a nice vertical hanger for an SS dagger with honest use wear. Not minty, but it certainly has a lot of character. The leather on this hanger is rigid where it needs to be (the piece of backing leather), but the straps are still nice and flexible. There is no dry rot or excessive flaking...

Early SS Dagger from Robert Klaas

This item has Sold or is On Hold
Here’s an opportunity to own an early SS dagger by the highly collectible maker Robert Klaas, with an unbelievably well preserved blade. Oh, and did we mention it is priced to sell? • Partial Rohm SS Dagger by Rich. Abr. Herder

Partial Rohm SS Dagger by Rich. Abr. Herder

This item has Sold or is On Hold
Here’s a real “salty” Partial Rohm (field ground) SS Dagger, straight out of the woodwork. If you’ve been looking for one of these Partial Ground Röhm SS daggers, but are on a tight budget, this is the one for you! There are several chips in the grip, but the eagle and guards, as well as the SS roundel, are still in tact and show a very pleasing age patina consistent with the scabbard fittings...

  • Boker SS Dagger with Vertical Hanger

Boker SS Dagger with Vertical Hanger

This item has Sold or is On Hold
Here’s one for the die hard Boker SS Dagger fan. Another example never before offered to the public. This dagger was recently purchased from a relative of the WW2 veteran who liberated it during the war, and has been packed away for decades! The grip is a nice even black tone that almost perfectly matches the color of the scabbard.

SS Dagger – Partial Ground Röhm By Gottlieb Hammesfahr

This item has Sold or is On Hold
This is a very nice partially ground Ernst Röhm SS dagger by maker Gottlieb Hammesfahr. This dagger has been stored away since the war, only to be uncovered in the vet’s steamer trunk by his son who inherited his father’s military service items.

SS Dagger — Boker

This item has Sold or is On Hold
This is a very nice, uncleaned WW2 Böker SS Dagger, acquired without a grip eagle from the son of the vet who brought it back from the war. Unfortunately, the son did not know why the eagle was removed, but evidence suggests it may have been replaced during war-time, and the replacement simply came loose and fell off. What you see is the result of carefully selecting a replacement eagle from the same period, and of the same metal and color as the original. The fit is very tight, and to the untrained eye, looks as if it is original to the dagger.

Early Chained SS Dagger – Type II

This item has Sold or is On Hold
These Chained SS Daggers don’t come around in this pure a form very often! Purchased directly from the veteran’s family, this Type II Chained SS Dagger is as good as it gets. Untouched since it was brought home from WW2.
