German Daggers & Knives

//German Daggers & Knives

German DaggerThe German Dagger was a very popular souvenir for many WW2 veterans who served in the European theater. For the German officers who wore them, they were a symbol of status, rank and power. Contrary to popular belief, WWII German Daggers were not used as weapons, but simply as an accessory to the uniforms of the German Officers (and a very fancy accessory at that). Some of the more common of these German Collectibles are the; German Army Dagger (aka Heer Dagger), Luftwaffe Dagger (aka Air Force Dagger), Navy Dagger (aka Kriegsmarine Dagger), and the Hitler Youth Dagger (aka HJ Dagger). There is also the ever popular Nazi SS Dagger. These daggers can be recognized by the prominent deep black handle and sheath, with a round “SS” button at the top of the handle, just beneath the top cross guard. SS Daggers must be carefully scrutinized due to the extremely high number of very detailed reproductions dating back decades! Often times novice collectors will unknowingly purchase an SS Dagger, only to discover later they purchased a very well made fake!

This is a nice late-war RZM 1222/39 (M7/95) SS dagger attributed to J. A. Schmidt & Sohn, in overall excellent condition. • Kriegsmarine (Navy) Dagger by Eickhorn

Kriegsmarine (Navy) Dagger by Eickhorn

This item has Sold or is On Hold
Here we have a stunning example of an Eickhorn Kriegsmarine Navy Dagger with a blade that is absolutely breathtaking and a scabbard that is dent-free; something that is becoming more and more difficult to find with these navy daggers. Since I love the blade so much on this example, we’ll start there. Often times we see these daggers with the fouled anchor etch spattered with oxidation spotting, or loss of the gray toning due to cleaning, polishing or buffing of the blade...

WKC Heer Army Dagger with Deep Amber Grip

This item has Sold or is On Hold
Here’s a real nice, all matching WKC Army Dagger with the “Tomahawk” style guard. This example is in overall excellent condition, but has been priced to sell based solely on the blade flaws. The grip is absolutely stunning in appearance, condition and color...

Government Official’s Dagger with Hangers — Alcoso ACS Solingen

This item has Sold or is On Hold
Here’s a fine example Government Official’s Dagger, complete with the original hangers. The silvering overall is 100%, and does not appear to have been polished or cleaned - just a nice natural patina. The artificial mother-of-pearl grip plates are without cracks or chips, only very minor use scratches noticeable in the right lighting. The hilt fittings are in beautiful condition with no major scratches and no dings, save a couple minor dings on the top of the eagle’s head (typical)...

2nd Model RLB Leader Dagger by Alcoso ACS

This item has Sold or is On Hold
We have here a nice, untouched, uncleaned yet well aged RLB Leader Dagger with original leather by Alcoso (ACS), which is not an often seen maker of this dagger. The grip is wrapped in the dagger’s original blue leather with several minor wear points that any RLB dagger expects to see. These daggers (for whatever reason) simply never age well.

Paul Weyersberg & Co Heer Dagger

This item has Sold or is On Hold
This is probably my favorite Heer (army) dagger to date. A stunning Paul Weyersberg army dagger with a gorgeous amber glass grip. The glass grips are hard to find on these, and add a touch of elegance that (in my opinion) even and ivory grip cannot touch...

Land Customs Dagger — Paul Weyersberg

This item has Sold or is On Hold
Here’s a nice, honest, early Land Customs Dagger from a hard to find maker, Paul Weyersberg. The deep blue/green leather grip is exquisite, showing only a few nicks to the leather, and a nice tight, heavily tarnished silver wire wrap...

2nd Luftwaffe Dagger by Pet. Dan Krebs Solingen

This item has Sold or is On Hold
This is a nice looking second model Luftwaffe Dagger by maker Pet. Dan Krebs. This is one of my personal favorite Luftwaffe dagger makers; I like their logo and their Luftwaffe daggers are quality. DLV Dagger — Josef Munch Brotterode

This item has Sold or is On Hold
A nice DLV Flyers Dagger (also referred to as a Glider Pilot Dagger or Knife) from the scarce maker, Josef Munch Brotterode. Nicely aged overall, this DLV dagger would make a fantastic show piece! The deep blue leather wrapped grip shows some normal surface wear, but retails over 95% of it’s color...

2nd Luftwaffe Dagger by F.W. Holler Solingen

This item has Sold or is On Hold
An overall nice dagger from F.W. Holler, with a nice heavy-core ivory colored grip and deep-embossed lower crossguard. The ivory colored grip has some age staining, as well as what appear to be scuff marks. We do not clean our daggers so attempted removal is up to the buyer. There are no notable surface cracks, and the wire wrap is nice and tight...

Early Luftwaffe Dagger (1st model) — Gebr. Heller Marienthal

This item has Sold or is On Hold
This early first model Luftwaffe Dagger is a real gem. A collector favorite, these early Luftwaffe Daggers are hefty pieces due to the solid nickel fittings throughout. Many collectors (myself included) also like the way these nickel fittings patina over the years, and this one shows a nice even patina that just adds a ton of character to the piece.

SA Dagger with RZM Tag by M7/2 Emil Voos

This item has Sold or is On Hold
Absolutely mint, in the full sense of the word. This Emil Voos (RZM M7/2) SA Dagger looks like it just came off the shelf, or out of a very well kept time capsule at very least. Still spoting the original tan RZM tag, which shows no signs whatsoever of decay and only very modest edge wear as seen in the photos (no rips or tears).

Early SS Dagger from Robert Klaas

SA Dagger — F&A Helbig Steinbach KR. M.

This item has Sold or is On Hold
Here we have a nice, hard to find early F.&A. Helbig SA Dagger with a blade that can’t be beat! The grip is a nice medium tone brown, with some natural dark accents that make it really attractive. There are some normal dings from use, but no cracks to note. The upper and lower guards fit like a glove to the grip. Helbig was one of the best makers of SA daggers when it came to the art of fitting their parts together.

2nd Luftwaffe Dagger by Alcoso ACS Solingen

This item has Sold or is On Hold
Second model Alcoso Luftwaffe dagger with the desirable orange grip and immaculate blade! Overall this dagger is in excellent condition, save some scuff marks on the grip and surface rust on the scabbard. The scabbard is a deep gray in tone, with silver colored hanger ring bands. The scabbard does have some surface rust (covering about 10 - 15% of the surface), but is not severe. The silver-colored hanger ring bands have more than the average amount of wear that we’re used to seeing...
