Here’s a real nice, all matching WKC Army Dagger with the “Tomahawk” style guard. This example is in overall excellent condition, but has been priced to sell based solely on the blade flaws.

The grip is absolutely stunning in appearance, condition and color. The deep amber tone alone just begs for attention, but when paired with its immaculate condition and perfect fit to the pommel cap and ferrule ring, you can’t help but appreciate the true skill, quality and craftsmanship that went into this piece. As stated, the fit of the grip to the pommel cap and ferrule ring is amazing – a real work of art. It is as if the grip just melts into these fittings. The pommel cap is a beauty in an of itself, with a very nice deep gray-brown patina tone in the recesses, with highlights of silver to the tips of the oak leaves. Aside from a few very small impact dings (hardly worth noting), the cap is a solid 9 on a 10 scale. The guard is the “Tomahawk” style from WKC, which is their 4th design produced between 1936 – 1942. The eagle has retained 100% of its factory detail, with no notable impact dings, or other noteworthy flaws to the front or reverse of the guard.

The scabbard is a perfect match to the silver plated grip fittings, in color, patina and condition. No dings, dents, or other imperfections can be noted on this scabbard, and very little wear as well. A solid scabbard from tip to throat.

The blade is perhaps the most distracting part of this dagger. Despite an extremely strong cross grain, and a nice mirror-like reflective surface across more than 85% of the blade, there are a number of dark spots and streaks that hold this dagger back from being considered “mint”. The spotting and streaks cannot be felt by running your finger along the surface, so it is our opinion that a blade expert may be able to clean this one up if the new owner so desires. We do not generally clean, polish or tamper with our blades in any way, we leave that up to the buyer.
